چکیده

We study how black hole superradiance appears in string microscopic models of rotating black holes. In order to disentangle superradiance from finite-temperature effects, we consider an extremal, rotating D1-D5-P black hole that has an ergosphere and is not supersymmetric. We explain how the microscopic dual accounts for the superradiant ergosphere of this black hole. The bound 0 < ω < mΩH on superradiant mode frequencies is argued to be a consequence of FermiDirac statistics for the spin-carrying degrees of freedom in the dual CFT. We also compute the superradiant emission rates from both sides of the correspondence, and show their agreement.

Statistical Description of Rotating Kaluza-Klein Black Holes

We extend the recent microscopic analysis of extremal dyonic Kaluza-Klein (D0D6) black holes to cover the regime of fast rotation in addition to slow rotation. Fastly rotating black holes, in contrast to slow ones, have non-zero angular velocity and possess ergospheres, so they are more similar to the Kerr black hole. The Dbrane model reproduces their entropy exactly, but the mass gets renormal...

Superradiance and Instability of Black Holes

We discuss the relation between the superradiance phenomenon and the instability of rotating black holes in higher dimensions. In particular, we point out that the superradiant instability of a massless scalar field around a simply rotating KerradS black hole implies the gravitational instability of that black hole for tensor-type perturbations. ∗) E-mail: [email protected] 1 typeset using PT...

Organizational Black Hole Theory

There are issues in organizations that require new theoretical formulation. Hence, metaphorical theorizing is used in the study of organizations to interpret them and understand their complexities. In this method, the organization is likened to an entity and one of the key features of that entity is generalized to the organization. It should be borne in mind that most organizational theories ar...

Black holes: Classical properties, thermodynamics, and heuristic quantization, in

I start with a discussion of the no-hair principle. The hairy black hole solutions of recent vintage do not deprive it of value because they are often unstable. Generic properties of spherical static black holes with nonvacuum exteriors are derived. These form the basis for the discussion of the new no scalar hair theorems. I discuss the generic phenomenon of superradiance for its own sake, as ...

Inertial motion superradiance, the emission of radiation by an initially unexcited system moving inertially but superluminally through a medium, has long been known. Rotational superradiance, the amplification of radiation by a rotating rigid object, was recognized much later, principally in connection with black hole radiances. Here we review the principles of inertial motion superradiance and...
